Alex Linder does a masterful discussion of the home schooling movement here. There are only a few obscenities, and mostly appropriate. You forget to mention, Republican Gov Schwarzenegger.

Now, lest someone says, “there’s always a few bad apples in any Party,” recall that on Andrew Sandlin’s chat board during the 2004 election campaign, he and his amen corner, especially Kevin Johnson and little Davy B, raved about Schwarzenegger like the Godfather schoolgirls when Johnny Fontaine arrived, and viciously slapped back any factual criticism.

This is what happens when a rabid Party spirit infects even good people.

And it is why extracting the Republican Party from the Christian Right’s thinking is as urgent as amputating a gangrenous limb. In the political sphere, there is no task more important.

If the so-called “Christian” right thinks that what Schwarzenegger is doing is bad in California (and they would be right about that), just wait until they hold their noses and vote for thrice-married serial adulterer Rudolph W. Giuliani. He and Rudy are cut out of the same godless, humanist, liberal cloth.

Rather than just say “if you don’t agree with me read this book,” I would rather have seen a review of the book, that is, (a) a brief summary of the main argument of the book, and (b) a scholarly weighing of the proffered evidences.
