Every war has a big story and thousands of little stories. The little stories are
where the human action takes place: the terror, the moments of hope; the heartbreak, the acts of kindness; loyalty, betrayal; courage, cowardice; hard, endless work, stiff upper lips, pain that is still felt, and pain that can no longer be felt.
