  1. I’ll be there d.v. in row M. Any other readers that are going to be there, let me know. Maybe we could link up for a cup of coffee before, during, or after.

  2. To paraphrase Nietzsche, I can’t stand the thought of TJH being at the Met watching the Valkyrie and me not being there.

I’ll be in row K. Anyone else coming?

Besides that, there are still a few tickets remaining for Tristan. Anyone interested?

  3. The Met production was generally good. I thought the Brünnhilde was a bit weak, otherwise the cast was good. This was my first Met opera and it was a treat. I have the video of this production (though most of the singers are different) and so was familiar with the set. In person, though, the set is even better.

Here is the Winterstürme from an earlier Bayreuth production. Peter Hoffman and Jeannine Altmeyer are the twins. Though not top tier singers, they act the parts beautifully. And to me the acting of these roles is just as important as the singing.

I hope the video will grab those who have not discovered Wagner yet. If is does not on the first view, read my synopsis of Act I and then watch the video again.
